Frequently asked questions.
What is the CBA?
The CBA is a membership organization serving over 1000 Catholic employers, including 60 Dioceses and Archdioceses, numerous Religious Orders, Colleges/Universities, Hospitals, and other ministries, in formation and administration of morally compliant employee benefits programs and in the legal defense of their right to do so.
Who are our members?
Our members include church and church-affiliated ministries as well as privately owned for-profit and nonprofit Catholic businesses.
What are the benefits of membership?
CBA has the resources, experts and strength in numbers that make it possible to represent member interests affordably and efficiently. Member services include consultations regarding moral and legal issues from preeminent legal and religious experts, practical business guidance, and educational resources in the areas of employment and benefits.
Moral: CBA’s ethics committee is comprised of the seven Catholic archbishops who serve on the CBA board. It works closely with the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, the National Catholic Bioethics Center, the Catholic Medical Association, and others involved in the moral issues facing Catholics. These affiliations make CBA uniquely equipped to offer our members guidance and practical advice as they strive to operate their ministries and businesses consistent with Catholic values.
Legal: The CBA is a cost-effective way for members, without necessarily disclosing their identity, to pursue legal protection from government intrusion.
Business:The CBA provides consultative services for our Members through personal one-on-one assistance, interactive webinars, educational white papers and templates for employment, healthcare and other policies.
Health Benefits Services: The CBA provides Catholic consultative services to assist our members in securing their protections in their employee health benefits.
